Hey — it's Rames
Holiday’s going smoothly: we canoed the gorgeous Gorges du Verdon, visited the picturesque villages of Lubéron, camped in the forest of the Cévennes, and just arrived in Ardèche during the peak of the heat.
Everything’s lovely, but I have to say I’m quite frustrated with the wild camping prohibitions. It seems there’s no single place where it’s allowed, and as we don’t really want to spend time in noisy & expensive campgrounds, it’s been a cat-and-mouse game to avoid being fined by the police.
I think it’s quite a shame we can’t spend the night in nature anymore. Most people who enjoy this activity are clean and respectful. No fires, I get it. But prohibiting people from sleeping in a forest or next to a lake makes no sense to me.
And before we begin... This week's sponsor...

3 Tips
1/ padStart & padEnd
There are two new formula functions coming soon: padStart and padEnd. Here’s the official description:
Returns the text padded with the provided padding string at the start until the target length is reached.
These functions take 3 arguments → padStart(A, B, C)
C = character or string to be repeated (added at the start or end depending on the function you select)
B = target length. If it’s 16, the character (C) will be repeated 16 minus the length of text (A).
A = initial text
Example: padEnd(”hello”, 10, ”U”) → helloUUUUU
2/ Inbox Update

3/ One-Click Skills
Notion AI also got a few improvements, one of them being “One-click skills”. Click the AI widget at the bottom-right of your page, and browse through a selection of suggested AI actions such as “Find action items”, “Ask a question about that page”, “Get help with code”, etc.
Here’s an example:
2 Resources
1/ Build an Automated CRM in Notion
There are zillions of CRM tools on the market. It’s a key component of your business as you want to keep track of leads & customers. But, if you’re a small to medium business, there’s no need to buy expensive software when most of the features you need can be replicated in Notion.
Just add a pinch of automation, and never worry about your leads, contacts or clients again.
2/ Notion vs Coda (30 differences)
Notion and Coda have sparked a revolution in all-in-one productivity apps. While they share the same fundamental idea, their unique differences make them ideal for different types of users.
To help you figure out which app aligns best with your needs, this video breaks down the 30 most important distinctions between Notion and Coda.
