Hey — it’s Rames
Just landed in Sri Lanka! It's been 5 days, and what an experience. I've been loving (almost) everything about it. Here's my starter-pack pros & cons list:
And before we begin... This week's sponsor...

3 Tips
1/ “Open URL” with buttons
The Notion community was 🔥 by this new feature last week. You can now use button automations to open external URLs!
Why is it useful?
1/ On Notion websites, you can now have proper buttons. They can redirect to other URLs that are not existing pages on your website, like a payment page for example.
2/ You can use buttons to trigger webhooks and automate your Notion a bit more.
Having fun using @NotionHQ buttons to trigger webhooks in @make_hq. While you can’t pass data directly, you can still build something amazing!

2/ Default Created by to Person property
You can now default the Person property to "Created by." What's different from the original "Created by" property is that you can then edit the person (or add more) if required.
3/ Prep your exams with Notion AI
Ace your exams this school year with Notion AI! Transform your lecture notes into practice tests using AI, and add specific instructions like "put the answer key in a toggle"— no peeking, you’ve got this! 💪

2 Resources
1/ Generate Notion cards
NotionVIP has created a tool that allows you to generate custom card previews for your Notion galleries. With this tool, you can enhance your workspace by creating visually appealing card previews with customizable elements. You can select from various background gradients, icons, and icon colors to create unique card designs that suit your needs.
The tool offers a selection of backgrounds and icons in its basic version, with an expanded selection available in the full version within Notion A-to-Z. These generated card previews can be easily integrated into your Notion databases to create more engaging and visually rich gallery layouts.
2/ Thomas Frank Notion Charts video
If you missed all the hype around Notion Charts' launch, I suggest you go watch Thomas Frank's video. He goes into great detail about all the different types of charts, how to use them, and how your data should be structured.
He also explains a hack to create multi-series charts, a feature that doesn't exist right now.
