Hey — it's Rames
For those who've been following this newsletter for a while, you know I have a knack for climbing. Whenever I can, I try to go to climbing gyms to do some bouldering. But recently, I’ve been experimenting with other types of climbing.
First, urban climbing, or buildering. It’s the act of climbing on buildings, or any sort of architecture that was not designed for climbing. There are so many opportunities everywhere, and it always offers original routes.
More recently, tree climbing! This is where it all started for many of us when we were kids. I remember the joy of going from one branch to the other. There’s something very primal about this activity that makes me feel super good.

Stay in shape this summer
with Notion Workout Tracker
While having a personal trainer is great, most of us can't afford one. Gain the 80/20 benefits of having a coach by planning your sessions in advance and storing all your workouts in your Notion Workout Tracker template.
Finally something that worked for me! I’ve been using the Workout Tracker for nearly a year, and I almost never missed a gym session; it truly became a part of my routine
There are two things I love about this template:
1. the ability to reset your exercises in a click at the end of a session
2. the fact that I can manage it all from my phone (super convenient at the gym)
Thank you so much 🤩

3 Tips
1/ Notion Sites
Notion's first crazy new feature from the summer batch is out, and it’s a little thing called Notion Sites 👀
I know what you’re going to say: “We can already make Notion websites.” Yes, that’s true. But Notion Sites now allows us to do in-app what a lot of Notion web-builders were doing, such as:
Custom domain (for an extra $10/mo)
Opengraph
Light/Dark mode
Favicon
Breadcrumbs
Add pages in navigation bar
Google Analytics integration
To turn it on, nothing has changed: click Share
→ Publish
, and to customize your website, click Site customization
. To add a custom domain, click your current domain
(ex: ramesquinerie.notion.site) → Manage domains
.
If you’re wondering what’s going to happen to the already existing Notion Web Builders, I recommend you read Bhanu's (Feather’s founder) great perspective on the subject.
TL;DR: Notion just massively expanded @feather_blogs’s market.
A lot of people are asking me what I think about this new feature and what it means for Feather.
If you know what all Feather does and what Notion Sites does, I think you will have an exact opposite view of what many people think.
Here’s what I think:

Fun fact: Notion was initially built to be a web builder 😉
2/ Search & Replace with cmd + F
A smaller but much-needed update: hit cmd/ctrl + F to search and replace text within your Notion page. The Search function was already available, but the Replace feature is a new and particularly useful addition. The design of the search box has also been improved and is now much cleaner.
3/ Notion Charts Teaser
And now for the second biggest announcement of last week, please welcome…🥁🥁🥁… Notion Charts!
Summer of launches is just getting good…Coming soon 👀 Charts!
You've been entering data into Notion databases for years, enjoying the various views, filters, and connections. Now, turn that data into a story with—Charts.
Rolling out later this summer… Reply “Charts 📊” to… x.com/i/web/status/1…

Again, we could already create charts using third-party tools such as Chartbase, but this time, it's going to be native to Notion, and much easier to set up. This announcement was very well received by the community, and here's a sneak peek into what it's going to look like.

2 Resources
1/ Database Automations
Did you know you could automate your Notion databases directly in Notion? It's an often overlooked feature, and still quite new, but it has a lot to offer when it comes to automated workflows without having to leave Notion.
I wrote a complete guide to native database automations, where I cover:
Triggers
Actions
Use cases
Access & Limitations
2/ Thomas Frank ‘Notion Sites’ Tutorial
If you want to fully understand how Notion Sites works, Thomas Frank has released a new video where he goes over all the new features. He also provides a website example to demonstrate how these features exist in the real world.
