Make With Notion Recap

1/ Notion (freak**g) Mail

Yes, we’ve been speculating about Notion Mail for a while. Now, it’s official: Notion Mail is here — and you can join the waitlist!

Here’s what Notion promises:

  1. ‘An inbox that organizes itself → Notion Mail auto-organizes, archives, and drafts emails for you.

  2. ‘No more tedious back-and-forth’ → It uses AI to schedule meetings, automate follow-ups, and respond to custom prompts.

  3. ‘Never write the same email twice’ → Send personalized emails using one-click snippets.

+ Integration with Notion Calendar
+ Notion-style interface (same design we all love)

PS: Like Notion Calendar, Notion Mail is a separate app — not just a feature.

2/ Notion Forms

Notion finally dropped a feature we’ve been waiting ages for: Forms! While third-party tools like NoteForms and Tally worked well with Notion, it’s awesome to now have an in-app, native solution.

I’ve had early access to Forms, and I put together a complete guide covering form creation, customization, previews, and sharing.

3/ Layouts

Now, for the star of the show (at least according to aNotioneer’s poll)—Layouts!

What are Layouts?

Layouts let you customize Notion pages — or more accurately, database items. Here’s what you can do:

  • Create custom page layouts

  • Pin properties

  • Group properties

  • Adjust settings (comments, backlinks, etc.)

To access this feature:

Go to any database or database item → click ••• → select Customize Layout.

I wrote a detailed guide that goes into all the things you need to no about this new feature—you can access it below.

Pro tip: If you’re unsure whether to build with pages or databases, go with a database now that this feature exists.

4/ Automations 2.0

Ok—this one got me super excited. Since Notion released native database automations, I’ve wanted more — the initial version felt limited. But now, Automations 2.0 is here with some big upgrades!

Two major additions:

  1. Define Variables → Now, you can define variables, including text and formulas! Using formulas with automations boosts functionality massively. Example: copying a project client to a task.

  2. Send Emails from Automations → You can send emails directly via automations. Plus, use custom variables or formulas in email subjects and bodies.

5/ Offline Mode ?!!!

I saved this one for last because offline mode isn’t here yet — but Notion finally announced it’s in development! This might be the most requested feature ever. People have been waiting (and complaining) about this for years, to the point where it became a meme.

So, stay patient — we’ve waited six years; a few more months won’t hurt 🤓.

6/ Creators Marketplace

This one’s for all the Notion creators! Notion launched an upgraded Marketplace to improve creator profiles.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Payments & Refunds

  • Analytics

  • Ratings & Reviews

Notion is making it easier than ever for customers to buy templates directly within the platform.

Check out your creator profile to access everything.

Conclusion

As you probably guessed, I’m super pumped about these announcements. Everything’s already available — except Notion Mail (waitlist) and offline mode (still cooking).

Notion has some exciting days ahead, and I’m grateful to be part of this amazing community.
