Hey — it's Rames

In a few days, I'll be back to France, then England, for Christmas. I haven't experienced a 'real' winter for two years, and I don't know if I'm afraid or excited to face the cold again. One thing's for sure — I'm happy to reunite with the cozy English houses, all-day tea, and, of course, my family 🫶

And before we begin... This week's sponsor...

3 Tips

1/ Notion Sites Management

I don't know about you, but I have hundreds of publicly shared Notion pages. Many of them are outdated, many of them I no longer wish to share, and many of them I simply don't remember.

But Notion released a new feature last week that allows for better management of all these sites!

If you go to your Settings & Members → Sites, you'll find a page with ALL your shared sites. From there, you can manage them all, such as:

  • Disabling the sharing

• Managing the sharing options

  • Accessing the website

2/ Add descriptions to views & properties

Christmas, or not, Notion hasn't finished surprising us. Last week, they shipped a new feature that allows for views and property descriptions. It's super useful if you work as a team or if, like me, you share templates with other people.

  • To add a description to a view: click on your view → "rename" → then click the "information" icon at the right of the view name and add your description.

  • To add a description to a property: click on your property → "rename" → then click the "information" icon at the right of the property name and add your description.

To view the description of any view or property, simply hover over them, and the description will appear on a black background.

3/ Use toggles to speed up page loading

Quick Notion tip: If you have a page with a lot of content that takes quite some time to load, you can nest blocks inside toggles. This will help by reducing the amount of content Notion needs to load.

If you wish to open all toggles at once, you can select all blocks with ctrl/cmd + A, then click to open one of the toggles, and it will open them all at once.

2 Resources

1/ Notion Certified Consultants

Last week, I wrote a guide for companies wishing to hire a Notion Certified Consultant, based on my own experience from the consultant's perspective. So, if you're thinking about hiring an NCC, feel free to give it a read.

On the other hand, if you're interested in getting jobs as a Notion Expert or Consultant, this article will greatly help you in understanding how a client makes their selection, how to prepare for interviews, and how to increase your chances of getting hired.

2/ Notion for students

Notion has recently expanded their Student program to countries other than the US. Apply for a free Plus plan for your student organization.

Student-led organizations at select verified higher education institutions around the globe can get access to our Plus plan and add members for free.

With the Plus plan, student orgs can upload unlimited blocks & file, add members their workspace, 30 day page history, up to 100 guests, and more — free of charge.
